When Xavier’s roommate, Frankie, leaves him for a new boyfriend, he thinks his Christmas is going to be a sad affair. Until Frankie comes back and tells him he made a terrible mistake. Will Xavier accept Frankie’s love as the present he deserves?
So what did I think?
This was short and sweet, as Xavier and Frankie find happiness at Christmas. It tells the tale of two men who have lived together for three years as roommates, but it’s not until Frankie moves out to go live with his boyfriend, that they realise what was right under their noses all along.
What starts as being a lonely Christmas, ends up being the best Christmas of his life as Frankie returns home. Nearly losing each other forces them to face their fears and take a risk to be together.
A nice happy ending as Xavier, the older accountant, stands up for his much younger partner!
“I know you worry about the age differnce, but you are everything I’ve ever wanted.
You are my permanent Christmas present.” The accompanying Christmas carol is therefore “You’re My Christmas Present” by Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners.
I downloaded this story free from Amber Kell’s website. It had a couple of minor editing problems (the title and author’s name appeared randomly throughout) but was easy to overlook. Download here.
