The Blurb…

There are good guys, bad guys, and then there’s Lucky.

Former drug trafficker Richmond “Lucky” Lucklighter flaunts his past like a badge of honor. He speaks his mind, doesn’t play nice, and flirts with disaster while working off his sentence with the Southeastern Narcotics Bureau. If he can keep out of trouble a while longer he’ll be a free man–after he trains his replacement.

Textbook-quoting, by the book Bo Schollenberger is everything Lucky isn’t. Lucky slurps coffee, Bo lives caffeine free. Lucky worships bacon, Bo eats tofu. Lucky trusts no one, Bo calls suspects by first name. Yet when the chips are down on their shared case of breaking up a drug diversion ring, they may have more in common than they believe.

Two men. Close quarters. Friction results in heat. But Lucky scoffs at partnerships, no matter how thrilling the roller-coaster. Bo has two months to break down Lucky’s defenses… and seconds are ticking by.

Excerpt…

The door flew open and Lucky made a grab. He rammed Bo’s back against the wall, setting off an automated hand dryer. Lucky ignored the hot air wafting over his arm, slammed his mouth hard against Bo’s, and shoved his leg between the man’s thighs. They devoured each other’s mouths, no hesitant tender kiss, but a release of tightly coiled passion. Tongues intertwined, each man sifted fingers through the other’s hair, tugging closer.

Below their belts their bodies followed suit, Lucky rutting against Bo’s firm thigh in an old-as-time mating rhythm. I’m going to blow in my jeans and I don’t give a fuck.

Lucky’s overwhelmed brain yielded up a single clear warning: someone might walk in. Mouths joined, he danced them toward a stall without breaking contact. A condom machine hung on the wall at an awkward angle. A handwritten sign proclaimed, “Out of Order.” Damn it!

At this rate, he wouldn’t last long enough to wrap his meat anyway. He wrestled them both into a stall, and slammed and locked the door behind him.

Author Bio…

Captivated young by story-telling, Eden Winters’ earliest memories include spinning tales for the family’s pets. Her dreams of writing professionally took a sojourn into non-fiction, with a twelve-year stint in technical documentation.

She began reading GLBT novels as a way to better understand the issues faced by a dear friend and fell in love with the M/M romance genre. During a discussion of a favorite book, a fellow aficionado said, “We could do this, you know.” Good-bye gears, motors, and other authors’ characters; hello plots and sex scenes.  So far that’s produced such award winning novels as The Wish, Settling the Score, The Angel of Thirteenth Street, Duet, Naked Tails, and Diversion.

Somewhat of a nomad, Eden has visited seven countries so far. She currently calls the southern US home, and many of her stories take place in the rural South. Having successfully raised two children, she now balances the day job with hiking, rafting, spoiling her grandchildren, and stalking the wily falafel or elusive tofu pad Thai at her favorite restaurants. Her musical tastes run from Ambient to Zydeco, and she’s a firm believer that life is better with fur kids and Harley Davidsons.

Guest Blog & GIVEAWAY! We welcome RJ Scott

Today we are lucky to have a visit from RJ Scott to talk about two of her books. Plus there’s a fabulous giveaway!

RJ Scott

Welcome to of my mini author tour, thank you to Two Men Are Better Than One for having me…

When I was at the UK meet I was told by readers on more than one occasion that they thought I just wrote paranormal, or I just wrote contemporary. Of that they knew about Texas, but had never heard of the Sanctuary series. So I came up wit this idea… highlight two very different books, or series, and add in some cool prizes and maybe readers might find something new from me.

Today I thought I would focus on two books featuring canine characters with a very different spins. Deefur Dog and Shattered Secrets (In the Shadow Of The Wolf book 1, written with Diane Adams).

These two books are nothing alike. One is a contemporary love story, the other a love story set in a paranormal world.

Deefur Dog is a standalone book telling the story of widowed Cameron Jackson who is attempting to juggles his business, his two year old daughter and Deefur, his Great Dane. When he realises he has no choice but to find Deefur a new home he thinks he will never be happy again. When he meets the perfect nanny, who not only is good with dogs and children but is also easy on the eye he finally begins to feel settled. This story is about recovering from loss and realising it is possible to love again. It is often called a sweet story that tugs on the heartstrings.

On the other hand Shattered Secrets is book one in a paranormal series I wrote with the wonderful Diane Adams (Making of a Man series, Last First Kiss). Jamie is a werewolf and when he sleeps with Rob, he doesn’t realise that Rob would freak out when he finds out about Jamie’s furry side. Rob has no problem with wolves in general, but human/wolf relationships are not on his to-do list. When Jamie becomes involved in a crime involving sex slaves it is everything that Rob can do to keep his young lover alive. The stories are action/adventure and romance.

The blurb…

Detective Remington frickin’ hates the missing persons detail, but a cold fury builds in the pit of his stomach when he realizes that over the past three months six boys have disappeared from the smaller communities that surround the greater Phoenix area. All reported to be runaways looking to escape their shitty lives, but Remy’s starting to put together a different picture and he doesn’t like it one damn bit.

Inspector Jamie Mainwaring stares at the six reports, willing them to make sense. Six boys, six months, all from just outside of London, which meant six different investigations. All of the boys were between the ages of ten and fifteen, all purportedly runaways from dysfunctional families. Something was rotten in Denmark.

There are always runaways. Every small town loses them—every big city collects them. Kids look for freedom and discover they have more to lose than they ever thought possible. London and Phoenix, culture and cowboys, nothing linking these two sprawling metropolitan areas. Nothing except a hit on a computer data search.

Two cops, one a cowboy, the other a Lord. A secret government agency, human trafficking, and a blazing hot mutual distraction.

What the hell have Remington and Mainwaring gotten themselves into?

So what did Robyn think?

I really enjoyed this. It was a bit similar to the Cut & Run series in that two alpha cops team up and hate each other on site but end up fucking anyway. That was about the only similarity.

They both fall for each other but Remy won’t ever admit it. He’s does anonymous fucks and never face to face. Remy has a story but we don’t know about it. It’s hinted that he was sexually abused and lived on the streets, probably selling himself for food, but its only hinted at. Maybe his story will come in the next instalment. Jamie on the other hand knows what he wants. He wants Remy.

When they come together it’s sweet and hot but of course Remy basically does a runner – emotionally at least. Remy realises he has these feeling for Jamie but being the alpha male he is never says anything. And of course neither does Jamie. Their relationship is full of no talking angst. But I guess if they spoke about their feeling and what they wanted then there wouldn’t be story.

The crime bit was quite well done. You always know who’s behind it so it’s no mystery but it was well played out.

Be warned though, there is no HEA here. Not even a HFN. This makes me mad and sad at the same time.

I heard that there were going to be 4 books in this series, but only 3 released so far. I’ve read the reviews for the next two and I know that if they ever get their HEA (coz lets face it, these two just belong together) it doesn’t happen until the forth. Now the question is – as a lover of HEA’s, can I wait FOUR books to get it? Or do I abandon this series now? I will probably read the next instalments but will wait until I can read the review for book 4.

Hope you enjoy – Robyn x
