Get Dirty and Win! Dirty Dining by EM Lynley New Release & Giveaway

Publisher: Dreamspinner Press

Cover Photo: Ronaldo Gutierrez

The premise for Dirty Dining, about a PhD student who takes a job in an exclusive almost-anything-goes men’s club, is a bit out of my normal range of story ideas. It started out as a free serial on my website where I could play around with some unabashed smut. Who wouldn’t like to have a sexy young man serving dinner and taking off a piece of clothing with each course?

Six courses, six pieces of clothing and… well you get the idea and the attraction of this fictional dinner club. It was such fun to invent the themes and costumes the serving “boys” would wear, however briefly.

Of course Jeremy Linden, my financially challenged student doesn’t exactly jump at the chance when he’s first offered the job. Just how broke does he have to be to do something like this? But he soon finds his bank account even more anemic than usual, and he gives the job a shot.

It was fun to explore Jeremy’s principles and how far he would go for some easy money. He hits a point where if he doesn’t keep working at the club, he’ll have to change his research project. He’s working on an HIV vaccine, and the tradeoff is an easy one for him: stay on the HIV research project even when his fellowship gets reduced.

The Dinner Club isn’t just fun and dirty games. On Jeremy’s first night he meets Brice Martin, who’s hot and as shy as Jeremy is with the sexually charged atmosphere at the Club. They really click, and it’s the prospect of meeting Brice again that makes the job a pleasure—in every sense of the word. These two have chemistry that had me overheating just writing it. There are quite a few obstacles to their relationship, but you know right away they belong together.

Another theme I wanted to explore is the role of venture capital companies in the decision of what firms and products get financed. Living in the San Francisco Bay area and having worked for Silicon Valley start-ups, I’ve certainly seen some strange decisions and even stranger bedfellows when it comes to venture capital and the health sector. Jeremy and his research are at the mercy of these market forces. And because of the Dinner Club rules about anonymity, neither Jeremy nor Brice realize that they are connected to each other in their real lives, as well as their fantasy world at the Club.

Whether you enjoy some good, clean smut or a romance or a story that delves into layers far below the surface, Dirty Dining is sure to leave you more than a little breathless.

Keep reading for the Rafflecopter.

Jeremy Linden’s a PhD student researching an HIV vaccine. He’s always short of money, and when biotech startup PharmaTek reduces funding for his fellowship, he’s tempted to take a job at a men’s dining club as a serving boy. The uniforms are skimpy, and he’s expected to remove an item of clothing after each course. He can handle that, but he soon discovers there’s more on the menu here than fine cuisine. How far will he go to pay his tuition, and will money get in the way when he realizes he’s interested in more from one of his gentlemen?

Brice Martin is an attorney for a Silicon Valley venture capital firm. When he’s asked to take a client to the infamous Dinner Club, he finds himself unexpectedly turned on by the atmosphere and especially by his server, Remy. He senses there’s more to the sexy young man than meets the eye. The paradox fascinates him, and he can’t get enough of Remy.

Their relationship quickly extends beyond the club and sex. But the trust and affection they’ve worked to achieve may crumble when Jeremy discovers Brice’s VC firm is the one that pulled the plug on PharmaTek—and Jeremy’s research grant.

Jeremy had to set out earlier to get to the city Wednesday night. Without a bike he was forced to use the campus shuttle to BART and arrived at the club’s staff dressing room with barely enough time for a quick shower. Three guys from his previous shift were here: Kit, Rand, and a slim Asian guy named Law—short for Lawrence.

“Hiya, my tasty macaron, nice to see you back again.” Kit gave Jeremy a European-style double kiss, though the second one landed on his mouth and not on his cheek. “Have fun last time?” He asked with innuendo dripping from each word.

“Fun enough.” Jeremy grinned and gave the other boys a wave. “What’s with Kit and the bakery talk?”

“Oh, he’s on a diet and can’t eat any of that. It’s the only way he can handle the deprivation.” Rand shook his head. “Anyway, glad you’re back,” Rand said and introduced Jeremy to the two boys he didn’t already know.

“Tonight’s costume theme is sailor boys.” Thomas handed out costumes. They were all variations of blue and white, with caps and blue or white shorts. He had a handful of sailor scarves in different colors, but he held onto those. “Need to get the assignments first. You’ll get a scarf to match your gentleman.”

Jeremy went to one of the stations and slipped into his: tiny white shorts, a sleeveless white shirt with buttons down the front, and a little white cloth cap. He practiced sitting in the tight white shorts so he could find the most comfortable way and not risk pain and damage to his balls. Kit noticed and came over.

He cupped Jeremy’s dick through the tight, thin fabric, then gave Jeremy another wholly unnecessary squeeze. “To get you started.” He winked and went back to fixing his own costume.

Thomas came in and took the scarves from Rand. “We had to switch a few boys around. Here’s your assignment.” He handed out the first four scarves, still holding a sky blue one and the green one as he approached Jeremy. He gave Jeremy the blue scarf.

“Hang on. I thought I’d be getting Mr. Green again.”

Thomas looked at Jeremy head-on. “Sorry, Mr. Green asked for someone else tonight. I double-checked because I thought you two worked out well last time.” He spoke softly, but the others could see which scarf he had been given. It was obvious what had happened. Kit looked away.

Jeremy’s stomach felt like it sank through the floor and kept going. “Didn’t he like me?” He whispered the question, ashamed to have his rejection so public, despite Thomas’s obvious attempt to spare his feelings.

“Yes, he did. But he wanted variety. We can discuss this in private later if you want.”

Jeremy blinked. Why did he take this so personally? This was supposed to just be a job for quick easy cash, not a matchmaking service.

Aspiring writer Brent Granger has good friends and a great job at an arts magazine in DC, but he’s batting zero in the arena of love. Brent begins to get a clue why things aren’t working with women from his strong attraction to his gorgeous, gay, and already attached boss, Graham Stoneford. When he sees a personal ad from a man that quotes his favorite poet, Brent decides to do something wild and answer.

Enter Cody Bellstrom, easygoing bisexual musician, who is happy to initiate Brent in the ways of gay sex. Brent now has a new problem: he realizes he’s gay and no one in his life knows it. Cody tires of hiding their relationship, but Brent finds it challenging to come out to family, friends, and especially to Graham. In the end, Brent must confront the truth of where – and with whom – his heart lies.

Categories: Bisexual, Contemporary, Erotica, Gay Fiction, M/M Romance

Wild and Precious

As Brent sat cross-legged on a pillow, tearing pieces off the rubbery bread and dipping them into various dishes he couldn’t identify, he realized he was having more fun than he’d had in ages. Along with being thoughtful and smart, Graham was one of the most hilarious people he’d ever met, and Brent was in stitches for most of their lunch.

“If only my dates could be like this,” Brent said, after another bout of laughter between them, then widened his eyes. “Oh, wow, man, that sounded dumb.”

Graham didn’t seem fazed. “They’re not? But why? You’re so fun to talk to. Any woman would be nuts not to appreciate you.”

“Uh, well, tell them that. But I guess I don’t really appreciate them either. I don’t know, it’s like, awkward and boring most of the time. Whatever. Ari keeps trying to set me up, but…. Anyway, how did this get into talking about my love life, or lack thereof?”

Graham regarded him, warmth in his eyes, and said softly, “You’ll find it, Brent. Everyone deserves to have love in their life. You’re young. You’ll find it.”

Graham’s words touched Brent, but the intensity of the moment made him uncomfortable. Even worse, he noticed he was getting aroused.

He shifted on his pillow with a weak laugh. “Hey, no more of this ‘young’ crap, okay? You’re not that much older than I am.”

Confessions of a Smut Writer

By Rob Rosen

Hello. My name is Rob Rosen and I am a smut writer—and a highly successful one at that. In fact, I’m also the editor of Best Gay Erotica 2015, the largest, the oldest, and the most esteemed of all gay erotica collections on the planet, now in its twentieth year and due out on January 13th. It’s a rare privilege to be handed the reins of this anthology, especially since I didn’t start out to be a smut writer, let alone the editor of the granddaddy of all gay anthologies.

See, fifteen years ago I was writing mostly standard fiction. Sure, I wrote gay stuff, too, but all of it very PG. In fact, I’d never really read that much erotica, nor did I think I had anything to add to the genre. I mean, I assumed everything on the subject had been written about, every dick and hole configuration already stickily put to the page.

Still, there were a lot of calls for submissions for gay erotica. Turns out, sex sells. Who knew, right? So fine, I tried my hand at it. I mean, my hand knew how to work both the keyboard and the crotch below said keyboard, so why not? And guess what? My story was promptly rejected for publication in a certain print anthology. Bummer. Then again, no harm, no foul. And since I’d already written said story, the aptly named “Go Fuck Yourself,” I resubmitted it elsewhere, to an online M/M erotica site. No money, pretty nice-sized readership. And that’s where my story soon landed.

Now, here’s where fate stepped in, lubed up now that it was. Turns out, the editor of MEN Magazine also read that certain nice-sized site and enjoyed my story—my one and only gay erotica story. That same editor then emailed me and asked if I’d like to write for his magazines, plural, because he also edited Freshmen and [2]. Combined, they had a home subscription base of over a hundred thousand readers. Wait, to rephrase that: A HUNDRED THOUSAND! And that didn’t even include the newsstand sales. So, yeah, despite the fact that I hadn’t a clue how to write gay erotica, I said sure. I mean, I might have been a neophyte smut writer, but certainly not a stupid one. And I could write, right? So why not for him?

And that’s what I did. I wrote for him and all three of his magazines for just over five years, appearing in more than forty issues, until the magazines sadly folded. And by then I’d also written for just about every gay publisher on the planet. Turned out, I did have something new to add to the erotica genre: comedy. Comic romances, in fact. And with some pretty nifty dick and hole configurations, too, if I do say so myself.

Jump ahead to more than several hundred published short stories, most of them nicely smutty, not to mention eight riotously funny novels, and here I now am, the editor of the most nicely smutty of all the gay anthologies. And, yes, I am humbled by the honor, the honor to edit this collection and the honor to work with the biggest and brightest erotica writers in the business. Fate, you see, takes you to unimaginable shores, especially when it’s amply lubed up.

As for Best Gay Erotica 2015, it too is nicely smutty, it too adds something new to the genre. Every editor, you see, has their own style, their own sense of what they deem erotic, not to mention their own predilections for what they like to read. So, yes, there’s more humor in this collection, more dark fiction, more fantasy, but with the same literary acuteness that everyone has come to expect.

So, yes, like I said, I’m a smut writer. And a rather proud one at that.

Thank you fate. Feel free to lube up and step into my life anytime you damned well please. I’ll be here, waiting for you.

WLK synopsis

Exiled by his pack as a teen, Omega wolf Simon Moorehead learns to bury his gentle nature in the interest of survival. When a hulking, rough-faced Alpha catches Simon on pack territory, he tries to escape what he’s sure will be imminent death. But instead of killing him, the Alpha takes Simon home.

A man of action, Mitch Grant uproots his life to support his brother in leading the Blue Mountain pack. Mitch lives on the periphery, quietly protecting everyone, but always alone. A mate is a dream come true for Mitch, and he won’t let little things like Simon’s rejections, attacks, and insults get in their way. What did I think?

I had the pleasure of being introduced to the first story in the Pack collection via audio book. Blue Mountain is the first book in the series and is a short and sweet introduction to the Blue Mountain pack.

The story: this a sweet shifter story. It’s not particularly action-packed, more a slow exploration of characters and emotions. It introduces the Blue Mountain pack and it’s Alpha, Frederick and his family, including his brother Mitch who is also an Alpha. But the story mainly focuses on Mitch and his finding his mate, Simon. I enjoyed the contrast in characters – huge, strong, and protective Alpha, Mitch, and Simon, an Omega who is strong in his own way. The characters displayed characteristics that contrasted with their set roles in the pack and it was interesting seeing Simon learn to trust and the relationship develop. There were moments of humour which I also enjoyed.

The audiobook: the audio version is just over 3 hours long, so perfect for a quick ‘read’ (sometimes I find the ten to twelve hour novels are too long). The narrator, Sean Crisdon, did a wonderful job of performing. His narration was spot on in terms of capturing the voices of the various characters and bringing the characters to life. He had to manage the deep and strong tones of the Alphas, the sweeter voice of the Omega, and the voices of women and children. I found this was done well and found his deep voice particularly appealing. My favourite scene was the argument between Mitch and Frederick where Mitch stood up for Simon and told Frederick to back off – well done.

Guest Post: Sid Love talks about Let It Go

Today we are lucky to be joined by Sid Love to talk about his new release, Let It Go.

Fun Facts

Fun Facts about Let it Go that you probably didn’t know –

  • This book is set in Goa, India. The two MCs meet at a beach called Calangute. Yes, that is a real place! There are hardly any M/M books out there with an Indian setting.
  • My main characters are named Damon and Virat. While planning out this story, I was watching “Vampire Diaries” and I had to name a character after Damon Salvator!
  • I always set a goal of a total word count for a story before I start it and always end up writing double of what I had planned initially. Ha! Well, Let it Go was supposed to be a shorty with about 12000 to 15000 words. And look at it now! It’s a 24000 words novella!
  • Every chapter in this book has been titled differently. The first chapter Spicy Moments has kind of a double meaning to it. 😉 My personal favorites, however, are He loves me, he loves me not… and A Memory to Last Forever.
  • The dedication of this book reads –
To Idina, simply because you are an inspiration

Well, Idina is none other than the most talented singer Idina Menzel who has given voice to Elsa in the movie Frozen! The song “Let it Go” has not just inspired my title, but my book too!

“Everyone tells me to stay away from him. But only if I knew how to resist him…”

Goa isn’t supposed to be one of the stops Damon O’Neil was taking while in India. It becomes a mere substitution to his big plans of visiting his sister in Paris for holidays. Because his boss, Mr. Boyles, ruins it all for him. He arranges an urgent visit for Damon to tend to all the system upgrades they needed for the company’s offshore units and Damon is too good to say no.

When a situation arises in a restaurant, a handsome Indian guy named Virat comes to his rescue. Damon is instantly smitten with his looks and especially, with his cute smile. Soon, he realizes that Virat is very much out of his league when the guy introduces him to his new wife.

However, there might just be a chance that Virat isn’t all what he pretends to be …

Dirty Rings (from Rhys Ford and Greg Tremblay)

What a cool idea! Free Ring Tones!

So a funny thing happened on the way to a tweet, Greg Tremblay, the fantastic narrator of my Dirty series, texted me and said… hey, you should giveaway a custom ringtone. Or something to that effect. There was some discussion. A few emails and then well, long story short—there may have been some pixilated shots of whiskey and banter but a plan was formed. A plan so cunning I could have stuck a tail on it and called it a weasel.

Mostly, it involved Greg. And your phone. But it was still a plan!

After a furious, intense process of queries, eliminations, debating on who said what, we came up with a set of phrases from Cole, Bobby, Jae, Claudia, Scarlet and one from Maddy then Greg went to work. And returned to me with a brilliant sound bites forged by a narrative master—in the style of the characters’ voices.

So dear reader, as a thank you for everything you’ve done for Greg and me, I’d like to present the entire set of ringtones—twenty one in total—FREE, as a gift to you.

Available in Android (MP3) and iPhone (formats for Android and Apple phones, Greg has also graciously included the WAV files if that’s your thing. Download links to the zipped files are provided below.*

A great humongous thank you to all of the blogs who helped me with this guerilla gifting. This swirled up on Tuesday and Greg just MADE it happen. He is the voice of the series and I am forever grateful for his talent.

Love you all, and really, Thank You.

If you’ve not tried out Greg Tremblay’s narrations, please do so. He makes audiobooks fun and damn, he brings Cole and the others to life.

Greg Tremblay’s body of work can be found here—and yes, the Dirty series is there but so are many other lovely audio books. I highly recommend one of Greg’s audiobooks, a comfy chair, a pair of headphones and a nice hot cup of coffee… or tea… with or without whisky.
