Excerpt

The warm air on my face invited me closer. I wanted to share his warmth. Isn’t that how it all started? Wanting him to chase away the winter chill. Begging him to. I looked up and immediately felt his mouth on mine. Soft but eager. He pulled back just long enough to yank his shirt over his head and then he was back on me. His hands on my chest while mine tore at the belt that was keeping his body away from me.

A moist sheen covered my overheated skin. I don’t know how much of it was due to the steam and how much was the result of my own desire for Daniel, but I didn’t care. My hands trembled as I tugged his zipper down. I splayed my palm against his hard abs and slowly followed his happy trail to my happy place. Knowing that I was more than just a girl replacement was liberating. He wants to be with me. And god knows I want to be with him. A guy. Two guys. It was surreal.

Digging my fingers through the coarse curls beneath the fabric, I pushed down even further. The outside of my hand grazed the evidence of his arousal. It was different for him too. His mouth locked onto mine, I couldn’t stand the wait. With a sudden urgency, I yanked down the last fabric on his body and pulled him into the shower.

The water was already starting to cool but it was still warm enough to feel good. The heat that we were generating was enough to keep us comfortable for a while. Daniel’s arms unfurled from around my back and I could feel him reaching behind me.

When I felt his soapy hands dig into the taut muscles of my back, I couldn’t stifle the moan. Letting my forehead fall to his shoulder, I relaxed against his body while he lathered up my back and shoulders. When his hands slid over the curves of my ass, I put my hands on his hips, ready to push back if things went too far. I wanted him but I wasn’t ready for him. Not yet.

“It’s okay, just relax,” he whispered into my neck while gently kneading the tight muscles that he’d never touched before. His large hands squeezed each cheek, letting his fingertips tease the opening without actually touching it. His mouth was on my shoulder, sucking on my sensitive skin. Grinding into his hips, my body begged to be closer. Both of our equally impressive dicks smashed between our bodies. I reached a hand between us to bring our rods together. I rubbed up and down his for a moment, reveling in how it felt against me. Knowing that I could do whatever I wanted with it. The question was what would I do now that I could? I wasn’t sure of the answer.

“God, that feels good.”

Excerpt

“Who pissed in your cheerios?” Hayden asks as he sets the glass in front of me.

“Who do you think?” Hayden has met Gary a few times and hates him more after each visit. I should listen to his advice more often.

“I don’t know what you see in that douche bag.” Hayden pulls a bowl of pretzels out from under the counter and grabs a few before setting it next to my beer. “You can do so much better.”

“Well, I think I’m gonna have to.” I take a drink before looking up at Hayden. “He might have broken up with me.”

“What does that mean?” Hayden nods to a waitress and fills two pints from the tap without taking his attention away from me. “Did he or didn’t he?”

“He told me to wait until he’s ready to come back.” I shrug and twist on the stool, hoping to see something to distract Hayden from this conversation with. There are only a few people sprinkled throughout the dark room. A couple guys in the back look familiar but their heads are down and turned away from me so I can’t tell if I know them.

“Hey.” Hayden flicks the back of my head. “You’re better off without him.”

“I know.” My brain knows it’s true but I hate being alone. I really hate it. I’ve been alone since I was sixteen and it hasn’t gotten any easier. “But he wants me to wait for him. So I can’t just move on or anything.”

“You can.” Hayden grabs my shoulder and twists me again so I’m facing him. “And you will. Just stay away from him. I’ve heard rumors about how he treats his exes and you don’t want any part of that.”

My blood runs cold at his words. I’ve heard similar warnings from people for the entire time we’ve been together. The few friends that knew I was seeing Gary were all worried about me. He has a reputation for getting too rough and driving his boyfriends away.

Literally.

One guy just up and left town without a word to anyone and the guy before me committed suicide. He was found in his bathtub a week after he and Gary broke up. At least that’s what I heard from some questionable sources.

“You’re right.” I stare down at my glass, swirling the foam at the bottom. “I should just forget about him and move on. And I’m going to start right now. Can you get me a double shot of Jack?”

BOOK BLAST: Best Chance by Aria Grace

 BC960x350

BC_400

Blurb

Vinnie is happy as a bartender at Ray’s and not looking for anything serious to complicate his life. He has great friends and a simple life. When Chance comes into his bar, he brings more than just memories of the summer they spent together in high school. The widower has a fifteen month old son that could change everything for Vinnie, if he’s willing to take the chance.

Excerpt

“It’s not exactly the penthouse, but it’s home.” I reach back for Chance’s wrist and tug him in behind me.
“I didn’t come here for the amenities,” he says, resting his hand on my hip and squeezing.
“No?” I turn so his arm is wrapped around my waist. “What did you come for?”
My face is inches from his. His warm breath washes over me as I stare into those desperate eyes.
“This.” Chance’s eyes drop to my mouth as his head tilts and he leans into me. As soon as his full lips close over mine, I want to sing. I instinctively open my mouth to accept his tongue as it lightly brushes over mine. We aren’t tentative kids anymore. We’ve both had time to perfect our techniques over the years so by the time I drag Chance into my room, I’ve touched every space in his mouth that I can reach.
Our hands aren’t left idle as we tug on clothes and pull down zippers until we’re both naked and panting on my bed.
“God, I’ve missed you, Vin,” Chance says against my chest as he drops kisses on my skin.

His Undoing by Aria Grace

His UndoingHis Undoing by Aria Grace

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The blurb…

When Mike found out he would be sharing a dorm with a former football star, he was terrified. He’d been bullied by jocks all his life for being scrawny and weak and didn’t have high expectations of how it would go. To his surprise, Brett was a great guy that was easy to get along with and seemed to enjoy his company. When Mike learned that Brett was gay, it was a shock but it also explained the threatening letters that Mike had been receiving. Was Mike really at risk because of a jealous ex? Was there even anything to be jealous of?

So what did I think?

This was a great gay-for-you story. Told from the point of view of Mike, “The kids I grew up with called me a fag. I’m not gay but I guess small features and a lack of arm and chest definition were enough to consider me effeminate by most standards.”, the story starts when Mike arrives at his dorm and meets his room-mate Brett.

Brett is the typical tall and muscled jock. However, as Mike gets to know Brett, he realises that Mike isn’t all what he expected and he certainly didn’t expect him to be gay. The men develop a close friendship which, to the reader is obviously more, but Mike is yet to acknowledge it.

The story involves a traumatic assault on Mike which provides a further push for the relationship development as Brett’s protectiveness and nurturing side really kicks in. Although I did think the resolution of the attack on Mike seemed a little strange.  I didn’t understand the approach Brett wanted to take and thought it a bit abrupt.
[ Why was Brett protecting his lunatic ex-boyfriend? (hide spoiler)]

It was great that Brett was not the stereotypical jock (so often these stories are about the jock realising he is attracted to the geek). Rather the story focuses on the ‘non-gay’ Mike gradually realising that he is more attracted to Brett than his newly-found girlfriend. I wasn’t overly happy with Mike’s treatment of the girlfriend but the way the story was written, Maggie was alright with the outcome and happy to transition to good friend so I guess all was okay.

This story is a nice blend of good characters and interesting plot with some drama thrown in. The sex was also good (it was nice to see Brett not taking the stereotypical role – or at least the role I would have expected – in their first encounter, particularly as Mike was very new to sex).

A nice happy ending although it did seem a bit abrupt – a short last chapter that basically summarised that all was right in the world or at least HFN. “Everything was still new and confusing at times, but I was happier than I’d ever been.”

A copy of this book was provided by the author in return for an honest review.
