EXCERPT: Moonlit Escapades (Moonlit Wolves 7.5) by Bronwyn Heeley

Moonlit Wolves 7.5Moonlit Escapades (Moonlit Wolves 7.5)

There is never a time when a visit from old friends isn’t comforting.

Ever wonder how Jex and Matt ended up in that compromising position in book 4? Or what the fight between Phil and Craig was about? Or how about how they all became so close and ended up living together?

Well, here’s your chance. All the missing pieces that were linked but not fully explained are bundled together in this heart-warming anthology, and just in time for Christmas, because who doesn’t like to visit from family at this time of year.

Note: series must be read in order, but these shorts can be read separately, they’ll just be enjoyed more as companions.

Jex let out a sigh of relief as he sat back into the lounge. Matt and he hadn’t been in this house for a long time, but he had definitely felt more at home quicker than at any of the other place his father took him.

However, his dad hadn’t been the kindest person, and they’d moved from one town to the next, leaving many people hating him because of what his father had done. Matt, with a quick kidnapping and a much-needed getaway, brought Jex to this lovely little town out in the boondocks, an unlikely place his father would never bother to look.

They’d reached town and a house full to the brim with men. Matt’s cousin and a bunch of mates had taken them both in and treated Jex like no one had done before Matt.

Jex loved the freedom of being himself, even if they all turned out to be a werewolf every time the moon was full. A lot to take in, but he had seen a lot of violence and bullshit in his life, so the werewolf factor seemed like a cakewalk.

In addition, he’d personally seen Matt change, so who was he to say something didn’t exist?

A cold bottle tapped on his shoulder, making Jex look over his shoulder. He took the bottle.

Taking a long drink of this piss-shit that the bottle label said was beer, he studied Matt. His lover rounded the couch and sat down next to him. Jex wasn’t a fan of Tooheys, he was more a VB man, but beggars couldn’t be choosers—or, more for him, lazy arses deserved to drink horse piss. He was, however, a fan of the man—tall, blonde, with deep-set eyes. He was like a walking wet dream. Someone who needed to be naked and fucking so everyone would see his true beauty.

He was a fucking dream. Jex’s dream. Even if it had taken the guy a couple of turns to realise just how Matt liked it when Jex fucked him and then give him more than he’d ever understood he wanted. Jex reckoned it came from the fact that he hadn’t ever been free to actually fuck another person before Matt.

“Taste like shit?” Matt chuckled next to him.

For the first time in a long time—and yet not a first for the thought—Jex wondered what he saw in a man who actually liked this shit.

“Why ask when you know the answer,” Jex spat back at him around another mouthful of beer. He was hoping if he drank it fast enough and got the buzz of beer in his system, it might actually start tasting nice.

Matt shook his head really slowly. That you’re fucking crazy shake, though the twitch of his lips held the joke.

“Fucking arse,” Jex muttered, finishing off his first bottle with a cringe—Fuck! This shit was bad.

Matt chuckled again. “Ah, but that’s what you love ‘bout me.”

Jex shook his head, a small smile pulling at his lips at the words, only his mouth hadn’t even completed the move before Matt’s lips covered his. The move Jex had been waiting for finally came. He snickered softly into Matt’s mouth. They were alone after all.

“It makes me feel all gooey inside to see you smile like that, and knowing it’s all mine… gets me hot as hell,” Matt whispered, a breath away from Jex’s lips.

Jex’s back arched at the scrape of whiskers against his upper lip. “Gooey?” Jex tried to make it a joke, not being able to deal with the softer sides of love.

“Oh, yeah,” Matt moaned theatrically. “It’s like melted lava inside me, mate.”

“So you’re a cooked marshmallow?” Jex muttered between the light kisses Matt was giving him. He needed more than the teasing. Already his skin was hot, his cock throbbed. He hated the teasing. Jex needed more… rubbing, thrusting, harder!

“Cooked Marshmallow?” Matt pulled back, apparently, finally, thinking around his own cock to what Jex had said.

“Shut up, man.” Jex laughed. “How can I think with my cock this hard?”

Matt burst out into laughter. Jex shifted back as Matt’s weight transferred onto his knees, since he’d straddled Jex sometime during the kiss.

Guest Post

Today I am talking about an anthology for my Moonlit Wolves series, It’s a fun little book that captures parts and explain parts of certain books that were in the story but weren’t really part of it. I didn’t want to take away the forces on the series and was advised against putting these shorts (they weren’t as created as they are in this book) into the back of the books, however I still had them and I thought they needed a book all for themselves. So I filled them up so that not only will it give fans of the series something special, but also allow others to come in and see what the series is about, get a little taste.

However, this means that a lot of the stories heavily feature couples I thought I’d talk more about the series

Why should we read the series?

This series is a fast paced manga style series, which follows the lives of a group of young men trying to just live. They only really know so much about themselves so all they’re able to do is deal with one problem at a time.

There is 6 original boys, Colin, Kyle, Gene, Chris Adam and James, who all grew up together, got bitten at the same time, and generally become the first part of the family.

The first arc in this series of, well, there’ll be 30 books all up, is about them, learning who they are, falling in love and fighting for, well, their lives.

It can get dark and graphic and some of the books could use another go through editing, but if you let the story flow around you you’ll fall in love with each and every character.

From book 2 to book 7 needs to be read in order, they are very tightly connected (with the slight excepting of book 5, though it’s still needed).

I feel it’s a very original paranormal, the same troupe everyone has read and written, but in a slight different style with the gore that I felt was missing in those other books. They’re light reads, they move quickly and they are just a little more than the light fluffy paranormal romance you normally read. Hell, they might be more erotic than romance, but it’s there, in the pages. Each character is falling and they are falling fast, they just might not tell each other with words.

The series  so far, which needs to be read in order

  • Loved By A Werewolf (this one does not need to be read to enjoy the series)
  • Forever With My Werewolf
  • Seeking My Werewolf
  • Taking Control of My Werewolf
  • A Werewolf’s Howl
  • The Rub of My Werewolf
  • Protecting My Werewolf
  • Moonlit Escapades

916 A.D. East Anglia under the Danelaw.

In Dark Age Britain, you knew your place and if you didn’t keep to it, you faced the consequences…

Hot-blooded Kjartan, accidental hero, has settled down into married life, with a baby on the way. But when he meets handsome glass maker Lini, their unlawful relationship provokes angry and passionate reactions from their kinfolk.

They have to fight back against the prejudice of Norse culture, and find out who their real friends—and enemies—are. And this conflict leads to murder.

But who is the victim, and who the killer?

Lini then went to the kiln and put the glass blowing rod into it, collecting a blob of molten green glass. He wore gloves, but there were old burns on his arms above the glove cuff. He blew into the cloth mouthpiece of the iron rod carefully, and Kjartan gasped as the bubble expanded. Lini spun it round and held a tool to it, shaping it into a symmetrical bowl shape. When finished, he put it into the low-heated oven so it would cool down slowly and not crack. He then repeated the process a few more times.

By this time, Kjartan had completely forgotten what he was talking about and stood just gazing, mesmerised.

“It’s wholly different to fighting in a battle, yes?” Lini smiled and wiped the sweat from his brow with his arm. “Quite calming.”

Kjartan just nodded, staring at the sweat running down Lini’s tanned back.

“So, the fighting school? You got as far as saying what you were going to teach them.”

“Oh. Yes. I’ll think of something.” It was far too hot in the forge and stopped his mind from working properly.

Author Bio:

Catherine L Byrne amused herself writing as a hobby for some years until she had her daughter, but becoming a mum made her realise she now had a purpose and time was limited, so she must get on with writing seriously.
The winter of 2009 was severe and as she and her family live in a small village, they were house bound by unusually deep snow for southern England. So she settled down in her office (i.e. the corner of her bedroom) and began her first book, which was published in 2010.
She hasn’t stopped writing since, generally on the theme of forbidden or unrequited love, and often including erotic scenes.

Whispers of Home

April Kelley

Publisher: eXtasy Books

Cover Artist: Carmen Waters

Categories: Contemporary, Erotica, Gay Fiction, M/M Romance

All Jaron McAllister wanted to do was get out of the small town where he grew up. After being bullied all his life for being gay, that’s exactly what he does. He loses all contact with everyone in the town of Pickleville, including his emotionally distant mother and the only true friend he ever had.

When his best friend and mother of the child they share, get murdered he knows he must ask for help in the one place he thought he would never go back to. Coming back home isn’t easy and finding himself attracted to the town man-slut spells disaster. Travis Heath isn’t at all what his reputation suggests though.

 whispers of home

Jaron looked through the window of the diner from across the street. His mother’s hands gripped a mug, probably full of coffee. Jaron thought he was meeting Brian but apparently Brian had other plans. Brian always did think he knew best, the bastard. Jaron was fully aware his oldest friend had set this up, probably getting in touch with Gloria McAllister right after Jaron had called the first time, telling her when Jaron would be here. Brian had never understood that the relationship Jaron and Gloria had wasn’t like the relationship Brian had with his own father.

Looking at his mom through the glass was like watching a movie of her. He had never felt the connection with his mom that he thought he should, even as a small child. Maybe that had been his fault. That he wasn’t quite what she wanted in a son and therefore kept just enough distance to make it seem like miles. Which was why he was confused she had come instead of Brian.

When he was eighteen years old he had thought he left because of a burning desire to fit in somewhere, because he certainly hadn’t fit in very well in Pickleville. He needed that connection to another human being, that knowing he was so important to another human being they just couldn’t live without him. Ironically, it was a five year old boy he felt unconditionally connected too. Now that he knew the unconditional love a parent felt for their child, he wondered at his mother’s parental instincts.

He stood on the sidewalk in front of what used to be a place called the Hobbyist’s Dream but was now an Asian market. He noticed the place was empty when he had arrived but his back was turned now, his complete attention on the woman in the window. He thought the Asian place probably wouldn’t have lasted long back in the day. Who knows now? The diner was the only one in town, or was until they put in a McDonald’s by the highway. Jaron hadn’t realized that things in this town could change until the bus passed by the fast food restaurant. Somehow he expected everything to be the same, as if time would stand still just because he didn’t feel any different now that he was here.

Standing here, he felt that maybe he left to put the physical miles between himself and the only parent he had ever known. He had never fit in with her either.

He felt a tug on his hand and looked down at sweet blue eyes. This small boy was as dependent on the next few minutes and the woman in the window as he was. “I’m thirsty,” Bobby said, around the thumb in his mouth.

“Me too. Let’s go.” Jaron stepped off the curb and onto the street, gripping onto Bobby’s hand just a little tighter, pausing for a car, and then continuing until he came within inches of his mother, the glass the only barrier now. She looked directly at him, showing more emotion in those few seconds than he had ever seen from her during his entire childhood. He looked away and walked through the door of the restaurant.

Today we ask April five very random questions.

Two Men: Slow and gentle or up against the wall?
April: I would like to think of myself as an up against the wall type of person, but in reality I’m more of a slow and gentle character.

TM: How did you come up with the idea for this story?
AK: Long story, I’ll try to make it brief though. I had a dream about two teenagers on a date. The boy walked the girl home after that date and the started for home. Some older boys picked him up, forcing him in their car and murdered him just outside of their little town. The girl was haunted by the boy after that. I guess I wanted something different for that poor boy. So I wrote Jaron’s character. He got out of the town before he could get killed.

At roughly the same time I had this dream my good friend got dumped by this cowboy type guy. Now, I’m from Michigan and no one here dresses like a cowboy unless they mean it. Just the way he dressed screamed player so really my friends should have known he was going to get dumped. I wrote Travis’ character, intending to kill him off or something, but then I kinda liked him a lot. Guess I fell for a player too, huh.

TM: What is a typical writing day like for you?
AK: I usually write in the mornings and afternoon. I’ll take a break when my kids get home from school and then get right back to it. I’ll read in between projects, but not usually while I’m writing a story.

TM: What is the least satisfying thing about being a writer?
AK: The least satisfying thing about being a writer has to be getting a bad review that isn’t constructive even a little bit.

TM: What makes you want to write?
AK: The characters. I love writing about people and figuring out what motivates them to do the things they do.

TM: Thanks for joining us today, April. We hope the new release goes well.
AK: Thanks for having me 🙂

EXCERPT & GIVEAWAY: The Sum of Everything by April Kelley

The Sum of Everything

 by April Kelly

Series: Pickleville  (book 2)

Publisher: eXtasy Books

Release Date: March 15, 2015

the sum of everything

They say opposites attract but can they make love last?

Greg Mitchell’s entire childhood was filled with violence and abuse.  That was until he came to work on the Heath Farm. His life was forever changed for the better, including meeting Brian Stockwell. From the first moment Greg met Brian he’s been in love.  But a threat his father made four years ago has always held him back from pursuing any real relationship with Brian. That was until he learns his father is on his deathbed and of no further harm to himself or Brian.

Greg finds out his family ties are stronger than he thought and they hold Greg back from really getting to know Brian the way he truly wants to.  Both men discover that they have more differences than they originally thought.

Every time Greg Mitchell looked at Brian Stockwell, he hurt. It was like a physical ache in his chest where his heart should be. Greg caught a glimpse of the man he had been obsessed with for the past four years and that ache started up. Brian didn’t even know Greg existed and even thinking about that made Greg feel like he was in high school all over again.

Greg was coming out of the barn, just getting ready to get cleaned up for an evening class he had to commute too. This was his last semester of college and he thanked God every day for that fact. He couldn’t wait to get done. The commute from the farm to school was a bitch, especially this past winter when the snow was up to the windows of his truck and his dick practically fell off every time he went from the bunkhouse to one of the barns. Greg was just glad that it was summer for his last class ever. He didn’t have to worry about the roads being covered in ice and the cold seeping into his bones.

The sun didn’t go down until about the same time Greg got home from class, so he didn’t even have to worry about driving at night in a large city. Although, living in Pickleville his whole life meant every city was large. Living in a small town also meant driving anywhere after ten o’clock at night was an unusual occurrence for anyone who lived here. For a farmhand like Greg that was especially true. Greg had been so focused on finishing school for so long that he just didn’t have time for any extracurricular activities.

Greg sighed as he watched Brian step out of the main house. Brian had shorts on, khaki’s and a dark blue t-shirt. Even from as far away as Greg was, he could see Brian’s cute little nose wriggle his glasses further up his nose. His dark hair had that messy, spiky look that seemed to be at odds with Brian’s nerdy personality type.

Greg rolled his eyes at himself. He couldn’t blame his lack of a social life entirely on his college classes. If Brian ever did give him the time of day Greg still wouldn’t pursue any type of relationship. And he longed to have Brian under him, naked.

Greg sighed again. Roger Mitchell’s parting words four years ago were not an empty threat. Greg’s father was more than capable of following through on hurting anyone Greg even came close to dating. Roger would know too. Greg had seen him on campus more than once throughout the years he had been attending the University.

Yeah, it sounded crazy. It was crazy but it was Greg’s truth. Greg would live in it.

INTERVIEW: Meet Beany Sparks

Hi Beany. Welcome to Two Men and a big congratulations on the new release!

When we spoke about your upcoming book you mentioned it was the second in your Merman series and an ‘anti-Valentine’s Day story”. It sounds intriguing and leads to a few questions I wanted to ask.

First the obvious question. Why merman? What inspired you to write this series?

Beany: I was letting my mind wander, as usual, and I was thinking of Charmed and all of the episodes and the one where Phoebe becomes a mermaid popped into my head for a second before the plot bunny attacked. I never stood a chance…

Are the characters the same characters as in the first book, ‘Christmas, Snow, And…A Merman?”? (Cute title by the way ☺) or are we introduced to new characters?

Beany: They’re not the same main characters, but we were introduced to Erik and Aryell in Christmas, Snow and…a merman?

So what’s this about an anti-Valentine’s Day story?

Beany: Well in Merman Tales 1 my merman hated Christmas, this time Erik (human) hates Valentine’s Day and Aryell (merman) tries to change his opinion of the holiday.

What did you do for Valentine’s Day? Is Valentine’s something to like to celebrate?

Beany: Being single, I had no plans for the day except one–dentist. Well, that definitely got cancelled Lol. Instead I spent the day running errands with mum, after I burnt myself making breakfast.

What’s coming up next on your publishing schedule? Any secrets you can share with your readers?

Beany: Let’s see, now that Merman Tales 2 is done, I’ve got my short story (A Leash on Love) coming out in the MCB Quarterly Magazine, Paws and Magic 3 coming out possibly April, and another project that I’m hoping to self-publish in the next month or so.

What book is currently on your bedside table (assuming you have time for reading)?

Beany: I don’t really have a book, but only because I can’t stop reading a book until the its done…

Finally, I know you have a beautiful new puppy. Do you have a photo we can share with your readers?

Beany: Sure! Here is my little Koda.

2015-01-20 18.14.42

This Valentine’s Day Erik gets a surprise visitor, but it’s not cupid. Not unless cupid is a sexy merman in disguise.

Time has passed, but Erik is still haunted by what happened to him at the hands of Dirk at Christmas. He’s been spending less time with his best friend Calder and, in turn, the one merman he wants, but doesn’t think he’ll ever have. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching he’s already making plans to avoid the world on the day.

Aryell has been staying with Calder and Tamesis since being reunited with his friend and leader at Christmas. While he enjoys spending time with the couple, it’s Calder’s best friend Erik that he’d rather spend time with, but the man avoids him and Aryell begins to wonder if maybe it’s time to return to the water.

One day changes everything and gives Aryell hope and new information. Can he convince Erik to give him a chance this Valentine’s Day, or will he be returning to his underwater home alone?

The Blurb…

A man who never knew magic and shifters existed gets a crash course when he saves an injured dog.

Aiden Grey is packed and ready to move and start a new phase of his life away from the family that kicked him out when he was eighteen. The night before he leaves he sees something fall out of the back of a van. Upon closer inspection, he is shocked to find that it’s not the bag he suspected, it’s a dog!

Deciding to take the dog with him, the two set off the next morning to Aiden’s new home. Everything is going well for Aiden and the German Shepherd he named Lex. That is, until said German Shepherd shifts into a man who claims Aiden is his mate.

Lex can’t believe he’s finally found his mate. But as happy as he is to have him, he still worries about his brother and pack, and where they have ended up.

With the revelation that shifters exist, secrets about Aiden’s past come to light. Secrets he didn’t even know existed. Suddenly, Aiden has to deal with not only the reality of shifters, but also ghosts and magic.  But with Lex by his side he can handle anything—even his surprise guest.

Aiden's Shepherd - Final

He stood near the table, breathing heavily, stopping himself from opening any of the curtains to peek outside to see if the van was still there. Aiden had no idea what he was thinking with this stunt, but something was telling him to protect the dog. He just had to figure out how to clean the canine up without getting attacked, bitten or turning the light on and revealing to anyone who might be outside that he was awake and moving around.

Aiden took a deep breath to try and calm down, then gathered his courage. He took a few steps toward the entrance of the kitchen to see if he could make out anything through the glass panels on the front door, trying to stay hidden from view. He couldn’t see anything at first, but as he kept looking he suddenly spotted the shadow of a man through the glass. He couldn’t turn around and put his back against the wall fast enough, breathing hard once again.

Fuck! I hope whoever that is didn’t see me!

“What the hell are you doing?” A male voice came from outside his door. The man tried to remain quiet, but he was just loud enough for Aiden to hear him.

“I’m looking for that mutt, what do you think I’m doing? Picking daisies?” replied a second male voice in the same hushed tone.

“What makes you think he made it all the way here? It’s not like there’s a blood trail leading to the front door!” the first man said, sounding angry.

“This is the closest house so I’m going to check,” the second man said, then tried to turn the handle of the door.

Aiden felt his breath catch in his throat. He knew he’d locked the door, but if they forced their way in and looked around, what would he do?

“Knock it off, you moron. That mutt was barely breathing when we put him in the van, and you think he not only got up and made his way to this house, but that he somehow got inside it, too? How stupid are you?” the first man said.

“I’m telling you, man. There’s something about the mutt that doesn’t sit right with me.”

“You’re just pissed because he managed to bite you. Now come on, let’s get out of here before someone notices us or the van. We’ll come back later in the morning and have a look around. If the mutt managed to find someone to feel sorry for him, they’ll probably take him to see a vet, then we’ll get our hands back on the beast.”

“Yeah, I guess. Alright, let’s go.”

Aiden listened to their steps as they walked off his porch and presumably made their way to their van. He breathed a sigh of relief when he realized they’d left.

There goes my plan to get the dog to a vet close by. Hopefully there’s nothing seriously wrong and he’ll be able to hold off until I can get us to the cabin in the morning.

Full Moon Torn

by Jackie Nacht

Publisher:  eXtasy Books

The Blurb…

With war breaking out, these two must fight harder than ever to keep from letting the worldtear them and their love apart.

Knox has been at Moon Compound for over three years. His life forever changed when his mate was brought in, injured from the cruel captivity endured at the hands of hellhounds.

Now, torn between protecting Whitley and letting him help his pack, Knox loses the battle with his wolf and turns feral.

When Whitley is summoned back to Moon Compound, he finds his beloved mate locked in a cell to protect both himself and others at the compound. He knows what to do, but isn’t sure Knox will agree to the consequences.

Knox seethed in the common area as Oren came over and sat next to him. He loved that Oren and Daegal had finally gotten their shit together and were happy, but he couldn’t stand being in this room another minute.

“How are you doing?” Oren asked.

Across the room, Knox watched as that fucker Duke was giving the small Omega, Myles, shit. Myles was one of the smallest shifters there, only five foot six and sweet, too. Yeah, that was the right word for him. Sweet, because even during his shift, the noises he would make while in pain were these little, Ow. Ow. Ow, while everyone else was screaming their fucking heads off.

“I fucking hate this. Every month, it’s the same.” Knox gritted out.

Knox watched as Duke grabbed a hold of Myles.

In an uncontrollable rage, Knox crossed the room. He was all over Duke, pounding into the Alpha, uncaring if he killed the asshole. He was thirsty to end this guy as his fists connected over and over with Duke’s face.

Shouts could be heard from a distance. Sloan, his best friend and Alpha, was there screaming at him, but he was lost. Lost to the anger, the smell of blood; he craved more.

Then, suddenly, Knox was pulled off. How dare they take him from his kill? A growl erupted deep within him and unleashed on those that interfered.

He was ready to go back at Duke when Malach came into his vision. The look of sorrow on his face had Knox baring his teeth. Malach pulled a syringe and struck him with it.

The world became fuzzy along the edges, and Knox suddenly had a little clarity. What the hell am I doing? That was his last thought before he fell into darkness.

Author Bio…

Short, sexy and sweet—where a little love goes a long way.

That’s the best way to describe Jackie Nacht’s stories. She was introduced to M/M Romance through her sister, Stephani, and read it for years. Then, she thought it was time to put her own stories on paper. Jackie began writing short and sweet stories that ended with a happily ever after.

Thinking back to her own book addiction, where there were many nights she stayed up way too late so she could read just one more chapter—yeah, right—Jackie decided to write short romances for young adults as well as adults. Hopefully, they will give high school and college students or working men and women something they can read during their lunch hour, in between classes or just when they want to briefly get away from the daily stresses of everyday life.

You can find Jackie on Facebook, Twitter and at her webpage.

EMS Heat Series by Stephani Hecht

EMS Collage Part 1EMS Collage Part 2

The EMS Heat Series by Stephanie Hecht

Each book is short and sweet – little bite-sized stories when you want to pick up something quick to read (I read each one in one sitting).

This is one of those series (previously called St Michael’s) that centres on a group of men who work in emergency services. It is a glorious combination of EMTs, firemen, nurses, doctors…

Each book is relatively short (<100 pages)  and make the perfect quick read when you want something short but enjoyable. For such serious topics, there isn’t a lot of time to delve into each story in depth but there is just enough heartache and working through issues to reach a happy ending. Okay, so most seem a little unrealistic – love at first sight, overcoming issues quickly and even the over-abundance of gay guys in the town – but I read this series for a light enjoyment so didn’t mind a bit!

You can read the blurb to find out more about each story so I have included a little quote from each book to give a sense of the style…

#1 Running Hot “Running to him, Calvin threw his arms around James and pulled him into a rib-crushing hug. They had a huge audience, but he didn’t give a damn.”

#2 Man Down “I told myself I couldn’t get close to you because I didn’t want any complications in my life. That I didn’t have time for a relationship because of school and stuff. The truth is, I didn’t want to grow attached to you because I can’t stand to lose someone else who I care about.”

#3 Lights and Sirens “Unlike Gary, Matt happened to be good looking on the inside too.”

#4 Priority One “This was it. Finally Dylan would be able to know what it felt like to be with another man. After tonight, there’d be no more lingering doubts. No more false hopes that maybe he’d been wrong all along and wasn’t gay and could make things right back home. If he did this, actually went through with it, these would be no question of what he was. “

#5 Code Blue “He wondered how this little brat had managed to mean so much to him in just the span of a day.”

#6 Red Lights and Silver Bells “Kaleb gaped at him in shock. Even after all these months of having to deal with Dylan’s insecurities, it still shocked Kaleb every time he realized just how little his lover thought of himself. If it was anyone who could have their pick of men, it was Dylan.”

#7 High Flow “Since he’d gotten away with touching him earlier, Patrick allowed himself to reach out and cup Forrest’s face. When the younger man briefly closed his eyes and turned into the touch, a thrill of victory went through Patrick. That’s it, babe, open up to me. It’s safe, I promise. Since he knew it was too early to speak those words aloud, Patrick simply went with, “I want you because you’re Forrest. I wouldn’t change a thing about you because you’re perfect the way you are”

#8 Three-Alarm Fire “Why it’s so easy to tell you things that I could never share with anyone else. It’s because you know what it’s like to be hurt by someone you love. You understand me in ways that nobody else could.”

#9 Shades of the Past “As Kiefer’s body seemed to mold into his side, Ray became aware of two things. One, that Kiefer made for a perfect fit. Second came the startling realization that Ray would do anything to protect the medic from being hurt again.”

#10 In His Hero’s Shadow “I don’t want to get hurt,” Brody finally admitted. “I know I’m not good enough for you and that it will only be a matter of time before you figure that out for yourself and dump me.”

#11 Life Over Limb “Nah, he was just being nice. There is no way in hell a guy that good-looking could be interested in me.”

#12 FUBAR “The victim finally looked up and Danny sucked in a breath as he found himself instantly attracted to the other man. Damn it though, he knew he shouldn’t be having that reaction, after all, this guy barely avoided being viciously attacked. The last thing he needed was his would-be rescuer drooling over him.”

#13 Status Dramaticus “Are you even listening to me?” Ah, no. I was too busy drooling over you and imagining how it would feel to have you fuck me into the mattress.

#14 Tagged and Bagged ”The good think about Housten being asleep, aside from the fact his mouth was shut, was that he wasn’t aware of how sappy Rich was being. And Rich was being sappy with a capital S.”

#15 Blamestorming “Intrigued because I’m gay and working in such an alpha dominated field, or because you’re interested in me for something more than a friend?”

#16 Circling the Drain ”Would you think I sound young and dorky if I said that if I wasn’t careful I could fall in love with you?”

#17 STAT “For some reason, Wells felt a flash of jealously over Jaret being so close to another man. Which was crazy. He and Jaret weren’t even friends, much less in a relationship.”

#18 City of Fire “Awww….you better watch it, people will say we’re in love.” “I see that you’ve been watching Oklahoma again.” “What can I say, I’m just a guy who can’t say no.”
