So what did I think?

The Twelve Days Of Dennis was built around a really cute idea. Martin’s boyfriend Dennis starts sending him sexy little presents, a new one each day with a short note attached.

Each chapter starts with the little piece of the carol….A condom in a jockstrap, two lace panties… and we see Martin’s reaction plus hear a little bit about what happened with the items the night before. It’s not until quite a way into the book that we actually meet Dennis.

I loved the idea but somehow it lost it’s lustre about the sixth day of Christmas – six gay ganders? really? It was still a sweet story but departed into the slightly weird. Dennis is a cross-dressing business man with lots of money but his ‘surprise’ Christmas party seems a bit eccentric rather than romantic. I sometimes think that less is more and this was the case with this book. Poor drunk Martin, not even remembering how the evening ended was the final disappointment. Martin – you really shouldn’t drink those Pink Flamingoes!

So all-in-all, 3 stars because the idea was cute to start with!
