Dressed, I headed across to Enzo’s room. He opened the door for me and my mouth dropped open. He looked amazing in a white dress shirt and navy slacks. I’d never seen him in anything other than jeans, chambray or t-shirts. Instead of boots, he wore brown leather brogues.
He stared at me with an odd expression before saying, “You look good,” and turning away.
“Wow,” Gianna said, looking me over. “You scrub up well for a ranch hand.”
She wore a lovely emerald silk dress that was cut off across one shoulder and draped in an asymmetrical style beyond her knees. Strappy diamante sandals and her hair styled in a loose chignon completed the classy outfit.
“He sure does,” Enzo added, still giving me that look that made my heart thud faster.
“And there I was worried you wouldn’t have anything suitable to wear.” She beamed a smile at me, and then turned to her brother, holding up a maroon silk tie. “Come on, Enzo. The tie will go great with your suit. Tell him for me please, Alex.”
“No, I don’t need one. Alex isn’t wearing one and he looks great.” He turned away as if he hadn’t expected the words to come out as awestruck as they did.
My smile blossomed into a full grin. He really liked me in a suit then.
“I don’t need a tie. As you say I’m just the ranch hand.” I winked at Gianna. “But the tie will work well with your suit. Here let me help you.”
I walked over to Gianna and took the tie from her. “You look totally amazing,” I said and pressed a kiss to her cheek.
Then I strode over to where Enzo leaned against the table. “Trust me, you’ll look great.”
“Hmmm,” was all he said, but he let me come close enough to turn the collar of his shirt up.
I was conscious of Gianna behind us so I maintained a reasonable gap between us as I slid the silk around his neck. Each breath I took filled my lungs with his scent—man and spice—that transported me back to the night in the log cabin.
As I looped and knotted the tie, I couldn’t help brushing my fingers against his chin. His breath hitched. A smile played at the corner of my mouth. He’d shaved the skin smooth. I missed the bristles and wanted them rubbing against my skin.
“I can’t find my perfume in my purse,” Gianna called out from behind. “I’m going to pop back to my room and get it.”
My body trembled, knowing I’d be alone with Enzo for a few minutes. I could feel the tension coming off his body too.
As soon as the door closed behind his sister, I couldn’t keep away any longer. I leaned my body against his, making sure he felt the bulge of my erection on his thigh.
“I’ve missed you,” I whispered before brushing my lips on his.
He gripped my low pony tail, angled my head and devoured my mouth.
I groaned long and deep as I sank into him, loving his strength, loving the contact. My hands slid around his back as I gathered him into me so that we were as physically close as we could be with clothes on.
I don’t know what happens to me whenever this man touched me, but I felt as if this was where I should be.
A rattling noise at the door broke us apart when Enzo shoved me away.

BLOG TOUR and GUEST POST! Rockin’ It Forever by Morticia Knight

The Language of Music

Longfellow said, “Music is the universal language of mankind”. Then there was seventeenth-century poet and playwright, William Congreve, who included what has now become a legendary line about music in one of his plays: “Music has charms to soothe the savage beast”. But it is Hans Christian Anderson’s quote, “Where words fail, music speaks”, that is at the heart of my book, Rockin’ it Forever.

Rockin’ it Forever picks up where the short story, Rockin’ the Alternative leaves off, so it’s important to read that one first. But in both stories, the clear theme is how music brings these two yearning souls together, because truthfully, music is the only language they speak.

When I first became a part of the What’s His Passion? imprint at Pride, it didn’t take much for me to decide on what passion I would use for my men. Music has been a big part of my life since a young age. My father was a professional musician, with an engineering career sandwiched in-between, and he encouraged me early on. Sadly, I didn’t find out until after she’d passed that it was my grandmother who was the singer of the family. Although my dad could play many instruments very well, his vocals were to be avoided!

The ups and downs of my career in the music industry also informed Aubrey’s character. For those of you familiar with the alternative rock artists and songs of the nineties, that would’ve been the time that Aubrey’s band, Falling in Stereo was at the height of their fame. That was also my most shining moment. I played in and around Hollywood from 1989 to the year 2000. My CD was out in 1997, which was right when Aubrey had his biggest hit.

When it got time for Aubrey to share some of his songs (this happens early on in the short story), it didn’t feel right not to have the lyrics. Bryan, the rock journalist who falls for Aubrey then questions his own sexuality, connects to Aubrey through both his music and lyrics. You can’t have one without the other. I couldn’t have actual music playing in the book, so I decided there needed to be lyrics in order for the readers to connect with how strongly Aubrey affected Bryan emotionally.

Aubrey is searching for his one true love, he really is. But that person can’t only appeal to him sexually or be compatible in day-to-day life – that man who he gives his whole heart to has to speak the language of music. For Bryan, music is what has always mattered to him more than anything else. He’s not searching for love, because he wonders if it’s even possible for him. When he meets Aubrey, the singer he’s idolized since he was twelve, he’s attracted to him in a way he never anticipated being that he’s always identified as straight. However, there’s such an immediate soul connection, Bryan can’t help but wonder if maybe this was what he’d been waiting for all along.

Of all the arts, I believe that music is the most powerful. When I hear a song that I love, it triggers those endorphins running around in circles in my head as they do a happy dance. How many times have you played a song to evoke a certain emotion, whether it was anger, joy or sadness? People hear a song and it immediately transports them back to a time in their life when they first heard it, or reminds them of someone or a specific event.

In the Rockin’ books, Aubrey and Bryan speak the language of music beautifully to each other. They get it. And even though they have their own ups and downs, ultimately, it’s the music that leads them to their ever-after.

PREORDER YOUR COPY NOW

Beauregard Boudreaux is a native of New Orleans Louisiana, born and raised there, he never thought he would ever stray far from home. The untimely death of his first love left Beau lost, adrift, looking for a place as far away from the pain as possible. Initially, he came to New York to visit a friend, the city growing on him, so he decided to stay. His law degree comes in handy at the LGBT Center he runs, but his bar is his baby.
William Richards grew up in Chicago, his family oddly normal and very accepting of his sexuality. Modeling paid the bills, gigs across the country as a model, male entertainer and a personal trainer giving him the opportunity to see the world. He hasn’t experienced loss or pain as Beau has, the common denominator between them is the loneliness. As All Cocks big, brooding bottom Connor, William has found friendship, family and an outlet for his craving to be more submissive than men of his size and stature usually are.
The two men are perfect for each other, their tastes and lives align and the writing seems to be on the wall. But Beau has a secret he shares with a choice few, a secret that not only threatens to keep them apart, it’s deadly. Determined to keep a wall between himself and William, Beau fights the attraction, pushes William away every time he steps closer. Can one man’s determination and strength be enough to tear down a wall that holds back decades of pain and darkness? And if he can, will either of them survive the flood?
Disclaimer: This book is the fictional story of a man living with HIV. I have put a lot of time and effort into presenting this story as true to fact as possible, without going into gory or gruesome detail. If this subject is a trigger for you, you may want to skip this read. But my hope is that you give Beau a chance to capture your heart as he has mine, and William’s.

BLOG TOUR AND EXCERPT! Speechless by Nicole Edwards

Title: Speechless
Series: Pier 70 #3
Author: Nicole Edwards
Genre: Adult, M/M Romance
Published: June 7, 2016
He’s suffering in silence…

Teague Carter, one of the four owners of Pier 70 Marina, has spent his life feeling rejected. To the point that he has never allowed himself to get close to anyone. He prefers it that way, in fact. But he refuses to believe that his destructive behavior might be something more than rebellion.

He’s unable to speak…

Hudson Ballard, Pier 70’s mechanic, has been fighting his attraction to Teague for years. He has stood by and watched the kid get more and more out of control, but this time is the last. If Teague wants to use sex to escape his problems, Hudson is certainly willing to be the one to show him that he’s good with more than just his hands.

Sometimes words aren’t necessary.

There are fireworks when this out-of-control bad boy agrees to no strings with this tatted up, dominating mechanic.

Can Teague and Hudson keep their emotions from getting involved in their arrangement? Or — thanks to the demons from their pasts — will the darkness steal from them before they have a chance?

We invite you join the Nicole & Colt Edwards Group on Facebook. Don’t miss out on the fun and prizes at the Speechless Release Party happening Monday, June 7th starting at 8 AM CST till Tuesday, June 8th at 10 PM CST.

Speechless Excerpt #2 © Nicole Edwards 2016

Teague was exhausted.
He had hardly slept last night, and it only had a little to do with the fact that Hudson had summoned him over so he could watch him masturbate (which, by the way, was hot as fuck). No, after that, when Teague had gone back to his apartment and attempted to sleep, he continued to think about Hudson. The man had captured his every thought and all of his dreams. He had tossed and turned, waking up with his dick in his hand because he was so turned on it fucking hurt.
So, suffice it to say, he needed a nap, but he had agreed to help out with some of the appointments today. And that’s how he found himself sitting behind the wheel on the boat while a group of girls flirted it up with a group of guys on the pontoon they’d rented for the afternoon.
He was actually used to this type of outing. He’d even had women ask for him specifically, though he doubted they knew he was gay. Not surprising, since he didn’t bother to tell them. What was the fun in that? He’d never so much as touched a woman in his life, and he had no desire to do so, either.
From the time he was old enough to figure out what his dick was intended for, Teague knew he wasn’t interested in boobs and pussy. Nope. It’d always been dick for him.
He’d experimented early on, topping a couple of times, but quickly learned that he preferred to be fucked, to be taken hard and fast, drilled into… Bottoming was certainly what he wanted. The whole top thing … required too much control, and that was one thing he lacked. Even he knew that.
And women … they didn’t have the parts that would please him.
But he could definitely flirt when necessary because it was good for business.
His phone buzzed in his pocket, and he retrieved it while making sure no one was around him. After Hudson’s text last night, he had no idea what the guy might send over, and he damn sure didn’t want anyone else to see it. Still, he remembered the commanding message for him to come over and watch. At first, he’d thought it had been some sort of test. Without hesitating, he had gone over and… Holy fuck. If he’d been concerned about whether or not it had been wise to accept Hudson’s proposal, he was no longer worried. The guy was hung like a fucking horse, and he was dominating when it came to sex. No way could Teague go wrong there.
You cool?
The message was from Hudson, and it was the first time he’d heard from him today, so it made him smile. Hudson was checking on him.
Not that he would put too much thought into that.
Yep. All good. You?
I’d be better if you were in the shop today.
Teague’s mind conjured up a million ideas about what they could do if he was in Hudson’s tiny little office, or even out in the shop.
Figuring it was his turn to tease a little, he responded with: And what would you do if I was?
What would you want me to do?
Of course Hudson would answer the question with a question. Still, he responded honestly: Whatever you wanted.
A minute passed, and Teague figured Hudson wasn’t going to respond, but as he was putting his phone back in his pocket, it vibrated. He took a deep breath as he pulled up the text and stared at the screen.
You would be okay if I sit you on my desk and suck you off right here?
Alrighty then.
Teague was fairly certain he’d just had a hot flash.
Like, seriously.
He peered over at the people on the boat, making sure they weren’t paying any attention to him. On a normal outing, he would’ve been hanging out with them, enjoying the party, but he was too tired today. Or he had been right up until he’d imagined sitting on Hudson’s desk while Hudson sucked him off.
Fuck.
He tapped out a response with shaky hands: I think I could handle that.
We’ll see about that. Come find me when you get back. As soon as you get back.
Thankfully, Teague had his sunglasses on, because it gave him some privacy for his thoughts. He knew he was easy to read, and the last damn thing he wanted was for these people to see the intense lust burning in his eyes.
He glanced at his phone to check the time. Still at least an hour and a half before they would be heading back to shore.
Surely he could wait that long.

Excerpt

(From Chapter One – Rhys meets his new neighbour)

The outline of a solitary figure appeared through the frosted glass of the front door. Male, I’d say, and short. Could be a kid.

I opened the stiff door with a deliberate jerk. “Yes?”

A man, probably in his mid-to-late thirties, stood before me. Short and slim, wearing long khaki shorts, sandals—no socks, thank God. His tanned hairy legs drew my attention for a few seconds too long. He held a plastic-wrapped plate in his hands with what seemed like cake on it. He looked pleasant enough, good-looking in an old-fashioned sort of way, and smiling a toothy grin not far from my face.

“Hello, I’m from next door.”

He inclined his head to the left. There was only one house next to mine, as my house was situated at the end of the cul-de-sac on a corner plot, so I gathered he was my neighbour.

“I’ve baked you a cake as a welcome gift.” He offered me the plate. “Hope you like lemon drizzle cake.” He smiled again and his eyes twinkled. Beads of perspiration dotted along his forehead. I took the plate from him before the moisture had a chance to run down his face and drip onto my cake. It was a warm and sunny June day, the first we’d seen in the UK for over a week. Typical! The day I moved house the temperature skyrocketed. Sweat dampened my pits and trickled down my back. I’d been shifting heavy boxes and stuff around for hours.

“Mmm… looks great. Thanks.” I breathed in and got a strong whiff of sweet citrus—from the cake rather than him, I hoped. “That’s very kind of you.”

“I’m Philip,” he said, edging closer. “And you’re very welcome.”

“Hi, I’m Rhys,” I said, standing firm. As nice as he appeared, I was reluctant to budge and let a stranger enter my personal domain.

“How are you settling in?” Philip peered around my shoulder and upper arm, a tricky task since I was a good six inches taller than him. “I would have offered to help you unload your car earlier, but I was mixing the cake at the time.”

I made the mistake of turning and glancing at my cluttered hallway.

Promo 3

Excerpt from Chapter Four

THAT NIGHT my thoughts blurred into dreams as I drifted to sleep, filling my head with memories of when I was a boy. I pictured Jake running with me down grass-topped sand dunes, flying our kites on wispy tufted downs, and rambling over the ruins of some ramshackle old castle. My heart soared in my dreams. I recalled the many nights we told each other ghost stories under the tents we’d constructed from blankets in our bedroom, times we snuggled under our duvets and shone torches under our chins, making scary faces.

In that haze of half-sleep, not sure if I’d slept yet or not, I jerked awake. Yes, wide awake now, not an interrupted dream.

And there it was again.

A cry.

Outside.

And close by.

Not a baby nor a fox, but a man. I lay there, heart thumping, straining to hear in the darkness, trying to pick out the sound and its direction. But nothing came.

In the long quiet that followed, I remembered again how Jake used to hold me when I was scared, or when I came home from school crying because bullies had called me names or pushed me around. He’d stood up for me, protected me, and one day the bullying stopped. I always thought it was because of Jake’s intervention, although he never told me what he did to make it better. I never asked him. One day I would.

The quiet of the night buzzed in my ears.

Maybe the cry was a dream, after all.

What did I think?

I loved the way the story was a contemporary story but hinted at paranormal elements. The historical components were also fascinating, weaved through the story as Rhys finds about the area he has moved in to. So as you read the book you learn about Rhys and his relationship with his brother and about him forging new friendships as he moves back to town after a two year absence. Alongside this is the story of the family who used to live in the Hall, a grand house nearby.

As the author points out, this is a taboo story, so won’t be for everyone. I’m okay with reading stories between brothers, and this was no different. It was about a connection between the two men that went beyond the physical. I did find some aspects of the story a little to easily resolved (I won’t call it out here because of spoilers but I’ll note it on GR so if you want to find out click here), but overall I enjoyed Rhys and Jake’s journey.
