About Reviews

** Please note this blog no longer reviews books **

Because Two Men Are Better Than One was originally set up as a blog to share reviews. Therefore the site contains many reviews of m/m romance stories. From mid 2014, the focus of the blog changed. The blog became more focused on book promotion and featuring Guest Posts and Interviews with m/m romance authors.

Below you’ll find information about how the review rating system worked, and the people who were involved in providing the reviews.

What Do the Ratings Mean?

The stars allocated reflect the reviewer’s rating of a book. This was a combination of how the reviewer perceived the quality of the writing and the emotional feeling toward the story. For simplicity we rounded up when assigning stars.

You’ll probably notice that there aren’t any 1 or 2 star reviews. There are two reasons for this.

  1. Firstly, this blog was started as a personal hobby. The vast majority of reviews are for books I chose to purchase and read (these are not free books from authors). I often select books based on other reviews or ratings or I choose favourite authors. By doing this, I naturally gravitated to books I knew I would like. This means more of the 3, 4 and 5 star reviews.
  2. Secondly, we prefer the blog to be a guide of what we recommend followers to read. We hope that people are reading this blog to get ideas of what they want to read. A lower rated book may not be appear on the blog, however these reviews and ratings may appear in Goodreads and Amazon along with the reviews of other readers. This way people can get a balanced view by checking out reviews in one place. Basically we don’t feel that we should be promoting or specifically pointing out books that we didn’t like with no point of comparison.

Reviewers

My name is Nic. I established this blog in May 2013. I have always been an avid reader, basically devouring everything and anything! My world changed when I got my first Kindle. Not only did I have the ability to read everywhere easily and anonymously, all of a sudden I could access thousands and thousands of books at any time. My life has never been the same!
