So what did I think?
Second Star to the Right was a single sitting book for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Mason and Jack.
Mason wants someone to see him for the man he is, not what he can provide. He has been burned in the past which has contributed to his low self esteem. He also has complex feelings for his best friend which complicate things.
Jack is the man whom Mason has rented for a week. I loved Jack, although why on earth Mason took him away for a week was initially beyond me – his initial approach and rule setting didn’t make him very engaging!
They played off each other beautifully, each with their own insecurities and fears and obviously perfect for each other, if only they could see it!
“You are an idealistic princess.”
“And you are a miserable troll,” Mason smiled. “Good thing they made you pretty, hmm?”
“I guess we’re both kinda fucked up, aren’t we?”
“Yeah,” mason chuckled. “Yeah, we are.”
An additional star for the emotional coming together of these two men when they got their acts together and a big plus for the happy ending!
I will definitely be checking out more books from this author.
