☞ 149 M/M Romance Book Trailers and counting…..

I’ve discovered that I really enjoy watching m/m romance book trailers – not as much as reading the books of course πŸ™‚ – but I get a kick out of seeing another side to the book, apart from the blurb.

It’s so interesting to see the elements the author has selected to include in the trailer.

  • The portraits and photos which show how the author has envisaged the main characters (I’m assuming the author approved them even if they didn’t find the pics themselves)
  • The chosen text and commentary to entice the reader
  • but most importantly, the music which really sets the mood!

I’ve managed to collect 149 m/m romance book trailers which I have collated into a You Tube Playlist. I hope you find some time to check them out and if you do find any that I haven’t yet included then please let me know so that I can add to my collection!

I have included the link to the full playlist but also selected a couple of individuals to highlight separately. I hope you enjoy my selection and most importantly, get tempted to buy and read the books! πŸ™‚

The Blurb…

After watching his alpha and beta almost lose their mate, Thomas decides he needs some time alone. Driving across country, he discovers Micah, a human that smells like dark chocolate and summer rain. He knows immediately that Micah is his mate, but before he can claim him, he has to get Micah’s sexy little butt out of trouble. They are attacked by a band of bullies. In his bid to protect his mate, Thomas reveals his true nature to the bullies and to Micah. Afterwards, he has to call in reinforcements to help clean up the mess. It comes in the form of Caleb Hunter, alpha of the Hunter Pack and Micah’s other mate. But Micah’s human. Isn’t he?

So what did I think?

The third book in the series, this is quite an entertaining story – quick moving and lots of humour.

Thomas sees Micah, knows he’s destined to be his mate but has to save him from the bullies first. He steps up in protective mode, placing himself between the smaller, delicate Micah and the men who are taunting him. He doesn’t hold back in proclaiming his attraction to Micah and demanding respect at which point the bullies are surprised to learn he is gay.
“You’re a fag?”
“Oh please, you need to be more politically correct when insulting someone. Don’t you ever read the papers? We’re progressive. We prefer the term pussy challenged. Now, get with the program, boys. My lunch date is waiting.”

Thomas uses his wit and humour to defuse the situation only to find that Micah has left but not before leaving him a pink rose and a note. (Luckily Micah had a rose handy!)

As per the other books, sizzling hot sex without much buildup – cause when you know the guy is your mate you just go for it – instinct just demands sex and claiming!

There is another incident where Thomas need to protect Micah. This time he needs to use his special skills so makes Micah close his eyes while he deals with the bad guys. Finally he resorts to calling in the pack’s “clean up” crew to help him and Micah get away. Unfortunately Micah overhears some of his conversation – he must have had good hearing to overhear both sides of the conversation. “What did Jake mean by shifting? Into what? A werewolf? Really? It’s quite funny to watch he reaction to finding out this pretty momentous news but just seems to accept it, more annoyed about the lying rather than the actual werewolf thing. “Okay, it is a little weird, I think I already said that, but we all have our idiosyncrasies. Yours just seem to be a little stranger than most. So what? It still doesn’t change the fact that you lied to me.”

The local pack is dispatched to the scene to help out and the Alpha just happens to be Micah’s other mate and claims him before Thomas becomes aware. This leads into the bulk of the story – the challenges of being a threesome, the tri-omega complexities & secrets from Micah’s past.

I did find Caleb to be not very appealing when he first joins the story and at times Micah was a little annoying (referred to as ‘spunkiness’ in the book). Thomas is just supportive and nice and all too kind and sharing.
There were a few things that I didn’t quite grasp or thought weren’t well explained – Micah just leaving his old life behind, Micah’s parent’s behaviour, some lack of observation about Micah’s physical appearanceΒ Β – but I just accepted the story for what was presented.

Overall, perfect book if you like a cute story filled with lots of humour and lots of very well written sex scenes!

Favourite quotes:

“It wasn’t easy being werewolf and gay. Everyone wanted you to have cubs. The more cubs you had, the more pack members. The more pack members there were, the stronger the pack – yada, yada, yada.”

“We never had a first date, or a second one. We’ve never even had a date. We just went from hello to bed. And now I find out you’re a werewolf?”

“Yes, I’m housebroken.”

“Don’t you Micah me, fur ball.”

“I’m not real sure how this whole greeting thing works, but if you’re going to try to sniff my ass I expect dinner first.”

The Blurb…

Ryland has loved Gregory for six years, ever since Gregory rescued him from the brink of death. He has also known since then that Gregory is his mate. He’s been old enough for a couple of years now, he just can’t understand why Gregory won’t claim him.

Gregory knew the moment he saw Ryland six years ago that they were mates. Ryland just wasn’t old enough to be claimed. So, Gregory bided his time, waiting for Ryland to grow up. But as his desire for Ryland builds, he wonders how much longer he can wait.

Gregory finally claims Ryland only to learn that by doing so, he has endangered his life. Ryland is a tri-omega and needs two mates to keep him grounded and safe. But he hasn’t met his other mate yet, which could be a problem. It could mean Ryland’s life if they don’t find him.

So what did I think?

This second book in the series was just as good as the first, with great characters and interesting story.

This book cleverly overlaps in time with the first book, Secret Desires, showing the same scenes but with a different perspective. This is the story of Gregory and Ryland who have known they are destined to be mates and have known since they first met years ago. Gregory has been waiting for Ryland to ‘grow up’ and now that he is over eighteen, Ryland can’t understand why Gregory won’t claim him.

When they finally get together after some initial misunderstandings, it is hot and sizzling. The relationship starts with a bang and from that time forward the two men are all over each. Ryland is totally inexperienced and has been pining over Gregory and Gregory hasn’t had sex for 6 years so they are very passionate!

Once again not fully understanding the implications of the tri-omega causes problems and suddenly Ryland’s life is at risk. Luckily the third mate for the relationship is discovered. Viktor immediately recognises Ryland as he mate but Gregory’s prior claiming causes a few concerns but nothing Viktor and Gregory’s attraction to each other can’t resolve. And luckily Leyland, Lucas and Jake are able to share some more insight into the whole tri-omega workings. “You know, it would have been really nice if someone had explained all of this to us in the very beginning. Maybe you should think about publishing a fucking how-to manual,” Gregory yelled before slamming the phone down.

Once again, this is a fun book with great characters and lots of humour. There are some minor editing problems including the odd changing of a minor characters name, noticed but easily overlooked.

Secret Desires (Tri-Omega Mates, #1)Secret Desires by Stormy Glenn

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Blurb…

Everyone has secret desires, especially werewolf Leyland Summers. He dreams of two sexy mates to bring all of his fantasies to life. When he encounters a sexy cowboy who wants to take him for a wild ride, what does he say? Hell yes!

Coming to ranch country for a picture shoot, Leyland was shocked to find not one, but two mates. Being a tri-omega, he had always known that he would have two mates. He just never expected to find them in the same place. Or to find out that they had been lovers for years.

Having two mates is no big deal for Leyland. He grew up with two fathers. But having two mates that were already in love is something all together different. How is he supposed to share Lucas with Jake…or Jake with Lucas? And where does that leave him?

So what did I think?

I really liked it! I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book!

I think the appeal lay in a combination of the characters and dialogue, with the characters being so engaging and with so much humour and cute flirting.

“…When I see something I want, what’s the point in pretending I don’t? And I want you, baby?”
“Baby?”
“Well, sex on a stick just seemed too long to pronounce, so, yeah, baby.”

The attraction is instant when Leyland and Jake meet – it’s that werewolf mating thing, when you find your mate you just know it! – and they pretty much get it on straight away. The sex scenes are sizzling and I don’t think I have ever read a sex scene on horseback before – very unique!

With mating and claiming comes instant love and the conversation reflects this. There are some lines that should sound corny but are just adorably cute. It’s so sweet to see Jake’s alpha instincts kick in and him to go all protective over Leyland.

The complication lies in Leyland being a tri-omega. He needs two mates and regular claiming, just to stay alive. The third in this relationship happens to be just the guy I was hoping it would turn out to be and the three together are brilliant, with the relationship being well balanced.

It is so amusing the watch Jake, the Alpha, in action with his mates. “I don’t understand this. I’m supposed to be the alpha here. I’m the man in charge, the ruler. How is it that neither of my mates gives me any respect? Where did I go wrong?” Jake said to no one in particular.

There’s a nice theme in this series about acceptance and understanding. The Tri-omega is unique and there is some question about the rest of the small pack accepting Leyland’s place with their Alpha. “Gregory, I didn’t ask to be born this way any more than you asked to be born below an alpha ranking. We are born to be who we are, and nothing can change that. Our only choice is how we use what we have been given.”

The only part of the story I really didn’t enjoy was the punishment dished out to Leyland by his mates, albeit at the advise of his fathers. It was essential to the story line but I still didn’t really like it as it seemed too much that they were treating him as a child.

This is a story that does contain some world building, particularly in explaining the role of the tri-omega to the pack but really this is limited. The story is more focused on the relationship building.

Note: There were quite a few editing errors including spelling mistakes and strange symbols in my Kindle version but they weren’t too distracting for me. So just a warning in case this type of thing puts you off. The errors were less in the subsequent books I have read so far.
